World-Class Sales and Marketing Director required. Our client is a world leading engineering company operating a niche market around the world from bases in Norfolk and Singapore. The company has over 120 employees, generating an annual revenue of around £16 million. Sales are generated from the proposals offices in Watton and Singapore and the company operates on a global basis generating orders from South East Asia, Japan, Korea, Australia, Middles East, the Americas and Europe.
Our client is a privately owned company and now seeks to appoint a Group Sales and Marketing Director to oversee sales, proposals and marketing activities. The company is at an exciting stage in its development and finds itself extremely well positioned to grow further. Over the next couple of years, they will focus on installing and developing the right management team to take the company forward. Engineered Products account for £12m of the turnover, standard products make up £2.5m. Afters Sales Services consist of the sale of Spare parts, replacement equipment and commissioning services accounting for high margin sales revenue of approximately £1.5 million.
The Sales and Marketing Director role will report directly to the Managing Director and will operate as part of the company’s senior management team. The Group Sales & Marketing Director will provide the strategic direction and management for the company’s sales, proposal and marketing activity.
More specifically the role will be:
To be capable of achieving all this you will have a strong electrical/mechanical engineering background and experience gained within a fast moving proposals environment. This will be essential to allow you to review technical proposals. A strong commercial background and experience of negotiating orders up to £1M. Particularly important is experience of dealing with engineering contractors within the Oil and Gas Industry and previous experience negotiating within varying cultural environments. You will spend you time between the offices in Norfolk and Singapore – with international travel as appropriate.
Four absolute criteria:
It is not essential that you are already a Sales Director. You may well be a senior Sales Manager with the four essential ingredients but applications will only be acknowledged and accepted from individuals who do match the four criteria:
1) Must have experience selling engineered products.
2) Experience should be in the oil and gas arena.
3) You will understand and have experience of working the oil and gas channels
4) You must have experience of operating globally
