We are currently working with a Design, Manufacturing and Installation Company based in Brandon who are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Design Team. Within this team you will be responsible for the design of fixed, sliding and hinged bespoke roof lights for a range of customers. The role will be predominantly office based, however some travel to site and client meetings may also be required. The following requirements are responsibilities will be encompassed by this role:
• The design of Parts using AutoCAD inventor
• An understanding of materials and their capabilities
• A knowledge of simple circuitry and hydraulics
• An understanding of material strength and manufacturing capabilities, capacities and limitations preferably with some understanding of sheet metal, machinery and welding techniques and drive mechanisms
• Creating manufacturing drawings in 3rd Angle Dimensions
• Some working knowledge of parts data management would be desirable
• Some project management would be desirable

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for Design and be excited by innovation and proud to be part of a team that will lead the way in creating new products for the company. As the role will bring you into direct contact with clients some previous experience with project management would be desirable. A methodical thinker, who can think on one’s feet and prioritise. Ability to self motivate, and set your own deadlines is key to this exciting role.
