Job Title - Minibus Driver
Up to 25hpw
Hourly Rate - £6.84
Reporting To - Operations Manager - Minibuses


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive departmental passenger and delivery vehicles as required.

• Assist clients at the beginning and end of their journeys to and from their homes, and on to and off the vehicle.

• To supervise the seating and securing of clients where appropriate.

• Ensuring the safety and comfort of clients and passengers and providing for their physical and emotional needs whilst in transit.

• At as first point of contact between clients, relatives, carers and the centre staff;

• To understand and, if necessary, cope with feelings of the clients’ relatives.

• To understand and respect the clients’ privacy, dignity and confidentiality.

• To be responsible for appropriate vehicle maintenance, safety checks and routine cleaning of vehicle, both inside and out.

• To make themselves familiar with the drivers’ guide and be aware what to do in cases of emergencies and accidents.

• Ensure that a Passenger Assistant is on board when conveying children of 10 years of age and under, clients who suffer from autism, clients attending EMI, special care and special needs centres as agreed with their Manager.

• To ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, observance and adherence to the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

• Ensure that services are provided in accordance with Company standards and objectives of quality assurance.

• To perform such other duties of a like nature as may be directed by the Operations Manager.
